Essential Information

What is the best time to do the Everest View Short Trek?

The best seasons for the Short Everest View Trek are Spring, from mid-March to May, and Autumn (mid-September to November), when the weather is stable, and the sky becomes clearer. Without gloom, the views of the gigantic mountains seem right in front of you and accompany you throughout the journey, with astonishing insights into the landscape.

The chances of precipitation (rain or snow) are also lower during this period, which keeps the terrain dry and easy to navigate. Thus, trailing along at peak times stands out as beginner-friendly and doable for all age groups, making both seasons everyone's favourite.

During Spring, the whole lush green valley thrives astonishingly in the shade of blooming red and pink, with clear mountain views from the very beginning and the sunlight hours last longer, comparatively, allowing trekkers to explore more and hike with ease, without worrying about dark early evenings. While making your way to Phakding on the very first day via the forest, you might encounter some Himalayan migrant birds and rare species, making the journey fully engaging, with the birds' chirps adding serenity all along.

Autumn, on the other hand, is considered a peak time, when the Everest region experiences a high number of visitors, opportunities to mingle, and global cultural exchange with trekkers from around the world. As this season comes after the monsoon, the dusty air clears, the weather becomes clearer, and the possibility of a cloud burst is virtually zero, ensuring smooth terrain and great climatic conditions.

The landscapes become more captivating, with the golden, crusty leaves and the crystal-clear views of the Himalayan peaks against the clear blue sky. Besides, what makes this season special is that the major festivals, Dashain and Tihar, fall between mid Oct and Nov, where hikers can celebrate them with the locals, gaining a complete unique insight.

How difficult is the 5-Day Mount Everest View Trek?

The Everest View Short Trek is considered an easygoing Himalayan adventure in the Everest region, lasting only 5 days and with a moderate pace of hiking. Daily, this trip demands only 3-4 hrs of hiking at a moderate pace, with a smooth trailhead, no mountain passes, and no steep, rugged sections, making it doable for everyone. In fact, it is also called an alternative to iconic EBC Trek, where you do not have to face various kinds of terrains, nor several ascents and descents, and yet showcases the panoramic vista of the himalayan peaks. Anyone with a basic level of fitness who can cover 3 hours of hiking daily can easily undertake this adventure; hence, no matter what age group you are in or how beginner you are, you can do it without hesitation or challenge.

However, if you are a first-timer, we suggest engaging in physical preparation, such as cardiovascular exercise, walking, cycling, or completing 10,000 steps daily, which can be a great help while on the route for daily distance coverage. At the same time, if you are travelling with kids or a senior citizen, do a full-body checkup, especially of the lungs, heart, and BP, and follow the preventive guidelines from the doctor. Besides, there is no certain risk of altitude sickness during the 5-day Everest View Trekking, as the highest elevation that you reach is only 3880 meters, which is significantly far less than any himalayan odyssey. Just ensure you follow the trekking guide throughout the journey, and provide a quick, immediate medical response and any suggestions by chance en route.
