ABC Weather by Season
Even though the weather conditions at Annapurna Sanctuary are not predictable, with the possibility of dropping quickly, to cold temperatures anytime soon, with heavy snow, winds and avalanche hazards, it is essential to forecast correctly and be prepared accordingly. The major factor that highly influences the climate situations stands out to be the season in which you are proceeding on the hike.
During the spring starting from mid March to late May and autumn (September to November), which are considered the peak seasons, the weather remains stable, with the temperature ranging from 16°C to 20°C, and falls to only 5 °C to 9°C, offering sunny days, to explore the lap of the almighty Mount Annapurna, and settle in at night, in a cosy dining area, mingling with other hikers and interact with locals. Due to the unchanging weather conditions and no expected heavy precipitation, the panoramic views can be best experienced during peak seasons.
In the winter season, the temperature takes a gradual drop to -15 °C to -22 °C, at night, demanding a sleeping bag and warm layer clothing to avoid the cold altitude, mainly in December, January, to mid February.
On the other hand, the monsoon time experiences unpredictable weather and climate conditions, where heavy snow and rain fall with high winds and precipitation are expected throughout the trail, especially from July to August. The humidity remains high, with the temperature ranging from 18 °C to 22 °C in low terrains, and around 25 °C at the highest at the base camp itself.
ABC Trek Difficulty: Beginner-Friendly Moderate
ABC rates moderate adventure that can be easily completed if the preparation is done well. If you have a basic level of physical fitness and are medically okay, then you can complete this trip smoothly.
Keeping these things aside, the only thing that could lead to a major problem is altitude sickness. As this base camp odyssey takes you to an altitude of 4130 meters, you need to avoid any alcoholic beverages and drink plenty of water and hot soups in such high altitudes. This itinerary is comprised of a week to make you gradually adapt to these drastically changing altitudes. There’s nothing to worry about commencing this voyage; our expert guides will make sure that you are acclimatised properly before ascending.
Moreover, it is an easy-track adventure where different groups of people, whether solo, family, or friends, are welcomed, and this wonderful journey can be completed by people of any age, having a positive perspective and a clear mindset. It is not necessarily important to be an experienced trekker, but you’ll require a professional trekking agency that provides amazing guidance along with a porter and guide.
Note to take all the basic first aid requirements for emergencies, and hire a professional guide to make your trek easy and successful. To know more in a detailed way, you can check out our recently updated blog by pro experts entitled: ABC Trail Difficulty level with guided tips.
