With over three decades of experience in the trekking and mountaineering industry, Mr. Julaf Sing Lama stands out as one of the most seasoned alpine professionals on our team. His deep-rooted knowledge of the Himalayas and his exceptional skills in high-altitude cooking make him an invaluable asset to Destination Himalaya.
Mr. Lama began his career in the early 1990s, working as a porter on classic camping treks when he was just 18 years old. Over time, his dedication, resilience, and passion for the mountains propelled him into the role of a high-altitude cook, where he truly found his calling. His ability to prepare nutritious and comforting meals in remote and challenging environments has earned him immense respect among clients and colleagues alike.
Throughout his extensive career, Julaf has traversed some of the most demanding trekking routes in Nepal. His experience includes guiding and cooking on rigorous expeditions across regions such as Upper Dolpo, the remote Kanchenjunga circuit, the Amphu Lapcha Pass in the Makalu region, and numerous high-altitude base and summit camps during peak climbing missions.
