Looking for the perfect way to explore Nepal, leaving no highlight unseen? Our 9-day Nepal Tour is designed for just that! The majestic journey takes us across the heartland of Nepal, undertaking everything from the chaos in Kathmandu to tranquil spiritual sites, divine mountain panoramas, and thrilling jungle escapades. Contrary to some, which include only a corner of Nepal, our All Nepal tour shows a little of everything this bewitching country has to offer.

This Glimpse of Nepal Tour begins in Kathmandu, visiting ancient UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Swayambhunath (commonly known as the Monkey Temple), the holy Pashupatinath Temple of Lord Shiva, majestic Boudhanath Stupa with colorful prayer flags, and ancient Kathmandu Durbar Square where the Nepalese kings once resided. These ancient locations are thousands of years old and carry thousands of tales of Nepalese culture and religion.

Our Nepal tour then gives you a scenic drive to Pokhara via Prithvi Highway along the Trishuli River, with an exciting stop at Manakamana Temple, 1,302 meters high, via an exhilarating 10-minute cable car ride. The panoramic views of green hills and valleys from there remain simply lovely!

Now, the real adventure begins in Pokhara! Rise early to head to Sarangkot viewpoint at an altitude of 1,592 meters to witness the spellbinding sunrise over the mighty Annapurna mountain range. Watch as the first golden rays coat the snow-capped peaks of Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Peak), Himchuli, and Lamjung Himal in bright orange and pink hues. It would then be a full day of exploring the lake city, exploring the second-largest lake of Nepal, Phewa Lake, the World Peace Pagoda, Devi's Fall, Gupteshwor Cave, and Bindhyabasini Temple.

The Spiritual Tour in Nepal takes us to Lumbini, passing through beautiful Palpa town, where Lord Buddha was born about 2,500 years ago. The itinerary includes a visit to Maya Devi Temple (the exact birthplace), the sacred Puskarani pond, archaeological ruins of Kapilvastu-Tilaurakot where Buddha spent his childhood, and the ancient Ashoka Pillar. The temples built by Thailand, China, Japan, Germany, and Vietnam represent different cultures of Buddhism.

Then moving on, a spiritual site much cherished by locals will make a special stop en route to Chitwan, which is the very colorful CG Temple surrounded by gardens where families come to pray for good luck. It only gets better from here as the jungle adventure in Chitwan National Park is an experience no one ever forgets! Walking dense jungle trails alongside the Rapti River on the sight of the jungle and eyeballing endangered one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tiger, wild elephants, and crocodile, the day just gets better. This act shall be perfectly fitted into the whole exciting experience with a performance of the Tharu culture with traditional stick dances and peacock dances in the evening.

This 9-day Nepal Tour Package is excellent for a family group, for seniors, or for anyone wanting to grasp Nepal's marvelous beauty without any difficult trekking or long walks. Essential Sites and Landmarks of this Nepal Tour Package

Nepal is indeed a magical country sitting between the two giants of India and China and lying in the lap of the Himalayas. This small wonder has the glory of over 31 million inhabitants who speak more than 123 different languages! The primary language is Nepali, but during our journey, many others will be heard as well. The country, Nepal, is diverse in the presence of about 125 ethnic groups existing in harmony, among the more prominent being Chhetri, Brahmin, Magar, Tharu, Tamang, Newar, and others.

Every group clings to its distinct traditions, festivals, and lifestyle, which gives Nepal its uniqueness. Mainly Hindus and Buddhists are found locally, and these two religious communities live side-by-side whenever we go about. From the high mountains where Sherpas reside to the flat Terai region where the Tharu people grow rice, every place has its own culture and traditions. Taking part in this All-Nepal Tour means you will have the experience of seeing every part of Nepal in one amazing journey.

Exploring UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu Valley

During our tour in Nepal, we'll visit four significant UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kathmandu that tell much about the nation’s past and culture. Our first stop should be Swayambhunath, which is also called the Monkey Temple, where, surrounding the sacred Buddhist shrine which was built 2,000 years ago, are groups of friendly monkeys. After, there is Pashupatinath Temple, where Lord Shiva is worshipped by people from across the globe as Nepal’s most important Hindu temple. Then, we stop at Boudhanath Stupa, enjoying the sight of colorful prayer flags fluttering in the sky since this is Nepal’s largest Buddhist monument. From there, we go to Kathmandu Durbar Square to see the king’s beautiful palaces, superb wood carvings, and an exciting chance to spot Nepal’s Living Goddess, Kumari! All these religious sites represent unique features of Nepalese culture and religion.

Discover The Beauty Of Manalamana Via Cable Car

Our journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara stops for the much-awaited mesmerizing cable car ride to Manakamana Temple. The 10-minute cable car ride takes us up through 100 meters to 1,302 meters above sea level with majestic sights of the green hills and flowing rivers below. The temple up on the hill holds a very special place in Hinduism; the locals believe the goddess Bhagwati grants wishes to those who come with sincere hearts. During the few festivals, these local people offer flowers, food, etc. to the temple. Upon a beautiful hilltop surrounded by tranquil forests with birds chirping, many newlyweds visit this temple to seek blessings for their married life. One fine adventure indeed is the ride on the cable car, one of the very few cable cars in Nepal and getting those incredible views of the countryside that remain hidden from us from the road.

Breathtaking Panorama Sunrise Views From Sarangkot, Pokhara

An early morning drive gets us to the Sarangkot viewpoint with an elevation of 1,592 m before dawn, climbing the dark mountain roads of Pokhara, and sunrise over the Annapurna mountain range is among the finest experiences Nepal can offer. If the day is clear, this almost impossible-to-explain moment will greet you every morning, and it will last with you for eternity. Slowly climbing the horizon is the delirious orange-pink wash across the snow-clad peaks of Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Peak), Himchuli, and Lamjung Himal. It happens almost every clear morning, and it is for sure that you will hold this memory forever. The mountains look so close you feel like you could touch them, and the Pokhara City and Phewa Lakes appear down below. Many visitors say that the sunrise and sunset are the highlights of their entire Nepal tour.

Pokhara Sightseeing: Visit Sacred Pagoda, Temples, Lake All In One Day

Our full day in Pokhara is filled with brilliant sights around this beautiful lake city on the 9 Days Tour in Nepal. We get to boat in Phewa Lake, the second-largest lake of Nepal, seeing the famous Tal Barahi temple on a tiny island in the middle of the water. The temple was built for the goddess Barahi and has been protecting the waters of the lake through the ages. Next, it is up-climbing time for the World Peace Pagoda (Shanti Stupa), thereby named because it is a bright white Buddhist temple that has awe-inspiring views of the entire valley of Pokhara and the mountains beyond. We also visit Devi's Fall, where water fades away into an underground cave, and Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave with a concealed Hindu temple inside. The Bindhyabasini Temple shows us local religious practices, while the International Mountain Museum educates us about famous mountain climbing in Nepal. Thus, every other place tells a different tale from this magical city.

Lumbini: The Sacred Birthplace Of Lord Buddha

Our spiritual tour of Nepal arrives at the most important stop when we touch fate and visit Lumbini, where Lord Buddha was born two thousand five hundred years ago. This tranquil site is peaceful, calmly inspiring, and divine. At the heart of the sacred site is the Maya Devi Temple that sits atop a precious stone under the floor marking the very spot of Buddha's birth. Adjacent to the temple is the holy emerging pond named Puskarani, where historically Queen Maya Devi took a ritualistic bath before giving birth to Buddha. The Kapilvastu-Tilaurakot ruins are also explored, likewise ancient, where young Buddha walked in his princely days, thousands of years ago, on those grounds. Then stands tall, indeed, the Ashoka Pillar, dating back two thousand years, erected by Emperor Ashoka, declaring this the true place of Buddha's birth. We visit the lovely monasteries built by Thailand, China, Japan, Germany, and Vietnam, all flaunting their unique style of Buddhist architecture and art, which also tend to be one of the major Buddhist Pilgrimage sites in Nepal.

Explore Swaswat Dham (CG Temple)

Our drive between Lumbini and Chitwan involves a special stop at an incredible place that the locals cherish colorful CG Temple or Shaswat Dham, with scenic gardens where families come to unwind. This temple has several very small temples with statues of Hindu gods and goddesses, flower offerings, and people bringing food while praying for good luck and happiness. It is a great center to meditate and attain inner peace. This is a place with traditional buildings enclosed with lands that have awesome architecture and gardens perfect for a stroll and a profound thought on life. Small temples and halls provide space for wise teachers to give lessons in morality and happiness. It is a living example of the importance of spirituality in daily Nepali life, and it radiates an energy so serene that it draws people from all over.

Unveil The Tharu Culture And Villages In Chitwan

We have this unique opportunity to meet the Tharu people during our all Nepal tour, a group that for hundreds of years has been inhabitants of the Chitwan. These cordial people exhibit a culture that is distinctly separate from all the other groups in Nepal. We visit the traditional Tharu villages where houses are of mud, wood, and straw, constructed to be cool under the harsh hot temperatures of Southern Nepal. The Tharus are great artists and farmers, well-versed in peaceful co-existence with nature and wild animals. In the evening, a fascinating cultural show will be presented with traditional dances that unfold the story of the ancestors of the Tharu. The stick dance is so thrilling as the dancers strike the wooden sticks together with absolute timing, while the peacock dance sees dancers imitating the elegant motions of a peacock. This corner of Nepal's colorful attire and music will forever remain engraved deep in our hearts, speaking of Nepal's rich and varied culture.

Discover Chitwan National Park: Jeep Safari, Canoe, And More

In our Glimpse Of Nepal Tour, our excursion to Chitwan National Park is considered one of the most exciting things we have ever done. This fascinating park shelters rare animals that cannot be seen anywhere else in the world. We begin with an elephant safari as these gentle giants trundle through the dense forests and grasslands. From here, one could spot one-horned rhinos, Bengal tigers, wild boars, deer, and monkeys jumping from tree to tree. Then it is time to wash and bathe the elephants in the Rapti River; there is nothing quite as much fun as watching just about everything splash around and play! Our canoe expedition cruises silently downstream, in longboats carved from great trees, observing crocodiles drying up in the sun, rhinos drinking water, and multicolored birds making pleasant noises along the riverbanks. Jeep safaris go to parts of the forest hidden away that elephants cannot reach, and we visit the Elephant Breeding Center, where baby elephants are adorable as they play with their mothers. Each of these activities gives us different chances to see Nepal's amazing wildlife up close.

After a filling lunch, we will walk around markets offering traditional crafts and local food. After Palpa, we descend into the flat Terai region. We will see big farms with green fields and small villages where people lead simple lives. The roadway is on the banks of rivers and is mostly forested.

We will reach Lumbini in the evening. This sacred place seems so peaceful and tranquil, entirely unlike the hustle and bustle we have seen before. Thereafter, we check in at a hotel to unwind and rejuvenate because of the next-day spiritual fare. The ambiance of Lumbini fills your heart with an unusual tranquillity.

Max Altitude: 1,906 meters Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and DinnerAccommodation: 3-star HotelDuration: 6-7 hoursDistance: 211 km

Today is memorable since we will pay a visit to the place of Lord Buddha’s birth which happened more than 2,500 years ago. Buddhists all over the world consider Lumbini to be one of their most important places. We begin with breakfast and then the spiritual journey will take place.

First, we shall visit Maya Devi Temple. This site is the most sacred in Lumbini as it maeks the birthplace of Lord Buddha. A precious stone marks this exact spot under the temple floor. It is around this site that the sacred pond called Puskarani is present, wherein Queen Maya Devi is said to have taken her baths before the Buddha was born. The temple is simple-looking but very serene in feel.

Then, at the Thai Monastery, we will admire traditional Thai architecture from the people of Thailand. The Thai Monastery presents an astonishing sight with a traditional Thai architectural style, gleaming golden hues, and ornate decorations. Inside, there are beautiful statues of Buddha suitable for meditation. The monks there are really nice and will be able to guide us with Buddhist teachings.

Heading out for a trip to the ancient city ruins of Kapilvastu-Tilaurakot. This ancient city was where Buddha was raised as a prince. There are walls, gates, and building foundations that are a few thousand years old. Walking here on these grounds, one could very well imagine the pre-enlightenment life of the Buddha. We shall also see the Ashoka Pillar, a tall stone shaft erected by Emperor Ashoka some two thousand years ago to mark the birthplace of the Buddha. The pillar has very ancient inscriptions that testify that this is the sacred place where Buddha was born. Moving on to Jagdishpur Lake gives feelings of serenity and calmness, where local people go for prayers and to unwind, making it a great spot to hydrate ourselves with silence.

The nearby villages that will be visited give an insight into the daily lives of the local people. These villages have traditional homes made of earth and wood. The villagers are keenly eager to show their lives to the visitor, how they work on their farms, the traditions that they uphold, and local customs.

Late in the evening, we shall visit monasteries made by China, Japan, Germany, and Vietnam. These monasteries differ from each other in architectural styles and decorations, showing how far the spirit of Buddhism has traveled.

Max Altitude: 150 meters Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and DinnerAccommodation: 3-star Hotel

We leave Lumbini after breakfast for Chitwan. From here, the drive passes through the beautiful expanse of the Terai, with all the land so flat and so green and we will see big farms, rice fields, and small villages. There will be a meaningful stop en route to Chitwan for two very special places loved dearly by local people.

CG Temple( Shaswat Dham): We shall stop by at this beautiful temple that is widely cherished by local families as it is a colorful temple with many statues of Hindu deities. Beautiful gardens surround the temple, where families can unwind and spend some time with one another. We will see numerous people come here with flowers and food for offerings to the gods for good luck. Shaswat Dham is a spiritual center where people go to meditate and fill their hearts with peace. The place boasts beautiful buildings with traditional architectural styles and serene gardens for wandering and contemplating. In addition, there are little temples and halls where sages impart teachings about life and bliss.

Following our tour of these special areas, we will proceed onward to Chitwan. Along the way and through the towns and villages, we might witness local folks working in their fields or looking after their cows. We will reach Chitwan by noon in the afternoon, check in and unpack into our hotel in Sauraha, right next to Chitwan National Park, preparing for an adventurous day tomorrow.

Max Altitude: 415 meters Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and DinnerAccommodation: 3-star HotelDuration: 5-6 hoursDistance: 175 km

Today will be one of the most exciting days of our entire journey! We shall spend the whole day visiting Chitwan National Park, where fantastic wild animals reside. This park is so unique as it gives shelter to animals that we cannot see anywhere else in the world. Having an early breakfast at the hotel shall mark the start of the day.. The park is so vast and consists of thick forests, rivers, and postcard-worthy grasslands where wild animals reside freely.

Elephant Safari: Anyone who has been to Chitwan will tag this activity as the fun one. There will be an interesting ride atop a big and friendly elephant that will plod deep into the jungle. From high up on an elephant, we may see wild animals just sitting around in the forest and there might be deer there or wild pigs; monkeys may be jumping up the tree. If very lucky, we could see the famous one-horned rhinoceros or even the Bengal tiger! This elephant knows the jungle very well and will take us to the best parts of it to view animals!

Elephant Bathing: After the safari, a really special thing is going to happen as we will go wash the elephants in the Rapti River! The elephants enjoy splashing water about-they enjoy others splashing water on them and scrubbing their enormous bodies. What fun! They are so gentle and friendly and it will be a special moment to see them have fun.

Canoeing Adventure: Entering nature in a canoe on the Rapti River which is handcrafted by local craftsmen out of huge trees, these boats are very special. While floating silently over the water, we might witness bears basking in the sun on the shores, big rhinos drinking water, and a variety of colorful birds residing along the river.

Elephant Breeding Center: We visit a place where baby elephants are born and taken into care. Here we would see big mother elephants with small babies. The little ones run around and are very playful. The keepers of these elephants will tell us how they keep the elephants in good spirits and in good condition.

Jeep safari: We will go for a jeep safari, in a hardy jeep which penetrates deep into forests where not even elephants can reach. These jeeps will take us to hidden parts of the forest where we can perhaps glimpse animals which are seldom seen. We will stop at two beautiful lakes within the forest where many animals come to drink water, especially in the early hours and late evening.

Tharu Cultural Show: Just as the sun starts setting, we would relish the special dance show by the Tharu, who have called this land their home for hundreds of years. The show would include a stick dance tradition where they strike wooden sticks along with music and a comical peacock dance with dancers mimicking the movements of beautiful peacocks. The costumes are very colorful, and the music is just the perfect way to end our memorable jungle day.

Following all these exhilarating experiences, going back to our hotel, happy but tired, would be the thing to do. The memories of wild animals and jungle adventures that we would create are something to tell our friends and family about.

Max Altitude: 415 meters Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and DinnerAccommodation: 3-star Hotel

Keeping an exciting day ahead of us, we are all to get out of our beds at 7:00 AM. Breakfast will be served at the hotel and then we will greet the guide who arrives for us and head west from Kathmandu. Giving us the impression that everything is changing quickly while leaving the busy city, we can zoom from the city into the country lands with farms and tiny fields that look like steps going up the hill. These are homes that we would know as the backbone Nepalese style and people tending to their lands. Our road will pass along the Prithvi Highway along the Trishuli River. The first half of the journey is through stunning hills blanketed with green trees and small villages.

When returning to our hotel in the late afternoon in Kathmandu, we will have our check-in time and spare a moment for relaxation. A farewell cultural dinner will then be arranged for us. This farewell dinner will showcase Nepali cuisine and entertain the guests with live music and dance performances with locals dressed in colorful costumes dancing to traditional dances from all over Nepal. This would be a perfect setting for us to share our memories from this incredible trip and all those wonderful sights we've witnessed. So this farewell dinner will be at the end of our exceptional journey across Nepal.

Best Time to do a Tour in Nepal

In truth, depending on what you want to do there in Nepal and how exactly you wish to spend your days, you should decide when to visit. Nepal has four seasons, and each season presents its own opportunity to the visitor. From a tourist's perspective, Nepal Tour best season is during the autumn months of October-November, when the weather favors travel. The skies are clear and blue, giving marvelous views of the mountains. The ambient temperature in the fall never climbs too high nor ever plunges too low; it's just amazing being able to amble around and feast on all the sights. It is also the top time for high mountain trekking and tours, with little rain and dry paths.

Spring, from March to May also happens to be the perfect time to visit Nepal, as the weather in this month remains warm and pleasant and conveys the scent of almost all flowers in bloom. In this period, rhododendrons bloom, Nepal's national flower, giving the mountains a charming shade of pink, red and white while other flowers add more colours. The temperature is excellent for viewing the Nepalese natural beauty.

Winter, the period between December to February, is cold in the mountains. But if you are good with slightly cold weather, then visiting would be very nice during winter since fewer tourists are clogging the place. Clear skies give the most amazing views but at times, some activities may not be performed in Pokhara due to its cold weather.

Summer, June to September, is called the monsoon period, and it rains heavily and greatly disturbing travel, especially on the hills. But if you somehow make a trip at this time, you will see green and fresh landscapes all around. It gets quite hot over the terai region of Nepal, so if you are a person who cannot take the heat, it might be an issue for you.

Most holiday seekers visit during the dry seasons of autumn and spring since they mark more comfortable periods for outdoor activities and Sightseeing tour in Nepal.

Visa Requirements and Application for Nepal Tour

Most people desiring to do the All Nepal Tour will need to obtain a visa first so as to be allowed entry into the country. Think of a visa as a special permit to visit Nepal. Getting your Nepal visa is actually quite easy and takes only a little time. Generally, there are two ways you can get your Nepal visa and one is to apply for it online beforehand. After going through this list from the official Nepal government website, you will fill out an online form with your personal information. You will need to provide a passport-size photograph and pay the fee online with a credit card. After completing your application online, an email will be sent to you then you should print it out and carry it with you.

Another way is commonly termed as the "Visa on Arrival," which is easily available upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or some land-border points. Your passport must hold validity for at least six months from your date of entry into Nepal. Photographs of passport size are needed and you must also pay the visa fee with cash, mostly in USD or Nepalese Rupees. There is a validity of 15 days at the cost of USD 30, 30 days for USD 50, and 90 days for USD 125. Preparation for the 8 Nights and 9 Days Nepal Tour

  • Make sure your passport is still valid for at least six months after your planned travel date. Travelers must get this to enter Nepal.
  • Apply for and get your visa. You have the option to get your Nepal visa as you get off the plane or you can do it online before traveling. Cash and passport photos are essential to acquire your Visa.
  • Book Your Plane Tickets As Soon As You Can. Make reservations for your flights to Kathmandu at least 2-3 months early to get a better deal and choose a good seat.
  • Get insurance that will help you cover situations like medical treatment, trip cancellations and lost baggage. This way, you will not need to face any unexpected problems by yourself.
  • Consult your doctor concerning your physical health and basic medical considerations before the tour. Inquire about any vaccinations you might need for Nepal. Also ask about medicines for altitude sickness and stomach problems.
  • Carry some US dollars or other strong currencies to change into Nepali rupees by way of convenience. You will find ATMs in cities, but a little cash goes a long way in small towns and villages.
  • Understanding Nepal’s traditions and customs will help a lot. You will be able to respect the locals and have a better time learning about their culture.
  • Prepare for any unexpected expenses by allocating some extra money in your budget. Figure out what you need to pay for meals, buying souvenirs, dinner tips and other unplanned events.
  • Create copies of your passport, visa, insurance papers and tickets for your flight. It is wise to have copies of your documents just in case you lose the originals. Be sure to handle your credit cards carefully.
  • Check the weather report for when you will be traveling so you can choose the right clothes. In Nepal, the climate can vary quickly so always bring appropriate clothing based on your travel time.

Packing List for 9-day Nepal Tour

  • Carry comfortable walking shoes for the drive. Good pairs of strong-soled walking shoes are needed for temple visits and jungle walks. Bring along a pair of sandals for chilling-out times.
  • Bring clothes per the weather. Light cotton cloth is a must for a hot, warm day and a jacket for the sudden chill in the evening. For temple visits, pack in long pants and shirts. On an early morning sightseeing in Pokhara during the winter season or even in the evening, it is good to have a sweater or fleece jacket.
  •  Unlike other places, keep sun protection ready to guard from the Terai summer sun. Sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen with SPF 30 or above are best as the sun can get really strong, especially in the mountain areas.
  • Prepared a small personal medicine kit. Include your regular medicine plus extra for headaches, stomach issues, and cuts. Also, pack band-aids and antiseptic cream.
  • A small backpack makes it easier to reach your important items for daily activities. While out sightseeing, you may want to bring water, a camera, some snacks and your personal belongings.
  • All your travel documents, passport, visa, insurance card and the number of someone you can contact in case of emergency should be placed in a waterproof folder. Also, have extra copies of your documents just in case you misplace the originals.
  • Don't leave behind all personal-care stuff in your journey. Carry enough toothbrush and toothpaste, soap and shampoo, and all of those daily habits with which you might be more comfortable. Hotels will stock general items, however, it would be better if you carry some personal items from home.

Glimpse of Nepal Tour Solo Vs Group Option

In Nepal, the tour may be solo or group-oriented, where each option offers its advantages and disadvantages, and your preference mainly depends on the kind of experience you want and your comfort level.

Solo travel

Solo travel means you are in full control of your travel plans and activities. You can pack your bag whenever you wish to go or even stop in an eatery- you know what changed in the itinerary that one time offered more opportunity than the other. Perhaps waking up early or staying late without bothering others is also a perk. Solo travel is expensive as you cannot share expenses with anyone else, but it is your confidence that needs to be boosted, keeping in mind, our guides will be there when you need them.

Group

Group travel tends to be cheaper because you share expenses with other members of the group. Making friends from different countries and sharing travel experiences can enrich the entire trip. Group travel feels safer for many, especially for those going to travel in Nepal for the first time. You will enjoy activities like cultural shows and jungle safaris more as a group, but you will have to follow the itinerary, leaving less free time. There will be moments in which you desire to see things that others don't wish to see or eat at a restaurant of your choice, but you will have to stay with the group.

Travel Tips For Glimpses of Nepal Tour

  • Never forget to respect local cultures. Kindly remove your shoes before entering temples or homes. Dress somewhat modestly, especially when observed in any religious places. Be sure to stand for the locals while respecting their culture.
  • Stay hydrated! Drink bottled water or filtered water throughout your trip. Everyone wants to avoid unwanted illness resulting from unsuitable water!
  • Eat safely to avoid getting your stomach upset. Enjoy delicious local food, but always pick clean restaurants. Those with sensitive stomachs should avoid raw vegetables and street food. Hotel restaurants offer the safest options.
  • In places where price negotiation is appreciated, be polite and in good humor while bargaining in the markets and shops. Bargain politely and always with a smile. Never become aggressive, as this would be out of local behavior.
  • Always keep smaller denomination Nepali rupee notes for tipping, temple donations, or small purchases. Many places in small villages might not be able to make change for larger denominations.
  • Be patient about time because time runs slower in Nepal as compared to Western countries. It can be heavy for traffic or even a change of schedules. So lie back and enjoy!
  • Being respectful while taking photos means always asking for permission, especially when photographing local people in villages. Some religious places don't permit photography inside, so make sure to follow the rules.
  • Keep your valuables in hotel safes or concealed money belts. Electronics get dusty on the roads, so pack them in a protective case.
  • Save all the important phone numbers in your cell, including your guide, hotel, and embassy. Note down on paper as well, in case your phone runs out of charge.
  • Every 2 hours, while on a long drive, stop to stretch your legs and rest your back. Use a bathroom whenever accessible because it might be ill-equipped along remote roads.

Nepal uses Nepalese Rupees. You can call it, either NPR or Rs. The local symbol looks like this: रु. You can get Nepali Money from Banks, Money Exchange Centres, or ATM Machines.
