Mera Peak climbing with Amphu Lapcha Pass route begins from Lukla after the scenic mountain flight from Kathmandu airport. The usual route to Mera Peak is via Zatra la Pass which stands at a height of 4,704m, this classic route is steep climbing and movable stones in the trail. We need mountaineering gear and skill for this challenging pass. So we follow the route from Lukla that leads south and traverse through Paiya, Pangom, Ningsow, Chhatra Khola, and Kothe. We walk through the valley and pass Thaknak to reach Khare. Acclimatization Day over in Khare helps us with Mera Peak climbing preparation, your experienced climbing guide will teach you climbing techniques and double-check the climbing equipment. Ascending to the Mera Base Camp through past glaciers and continuing climbing to Mera Peak High Camp (5,780m/18,958ft). Start early in the morning to get to Mera Peak Summit and after summiting the peak slowly and carefully descend to Khare and trek back to Lukla.
Mera Peak climbing is considered strenuous grade as its technical section crevasses some parts en route to the summit from Base Camp.
After the summit victory of Mera Peak, our trek leads towards Amphu Lapcha Pass and Chhukung Valley. We have an option to take a rugged and strenuous trekking trail to Everest Base Camp via Kongma La Pass. The further journey from Chhukung village and traversing through Khumbu Valley, Tengboche, Namche, Manjo, and Phakding reaches us at Lukla.
