Then, this combined package of Mardi Himal and Annapurna Base Camp is perfect for you, which blends two most popular treks, that explores traditional villages, verdant forest, diverse landscapes, biodiversity, and ecosystem of six climatic zones and finally ascends to the Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500 meters) and Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)- 4130 m.in one single trip where more than 20 mountains accompany you in every stride.

Annapurna Base Camp with Mardi Himal Trek Overview:

The Mardi Himal Trek and Annapurna Base Camp Trek are the emerging treks in Nepal that meander through the Annapurna Conservation Area right from the start till the end. Even though it might sound like you are navigating the same trailhead, the diverse landscapes, varied terrains, and a rich tapestry of culture of ethnic communities opening up gradually each day will surely amuse and enchant with the unique features each day holds. Within just 13 days of this trek to ABC and Mardi Himal, you will get to cover two fascinating routes starting from lush green forest and ending in the highlands of the Himalayas.

The Mardi Himal and ABC Trek begins with a drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu via a standard luxury tourist bus, where the first glimpse of Mt. Fishtail (Machhapuchhare) can be seen towering high after we reach the city of Lake Pokhara. After spending an overnight in this vibrant street, we will take a drive to Dhampus, and trek to Deurali from where the walking trail begins and the section of the Annapurna region starts. From here onwards, the spectacular view of the Annapurna massif befriended us throughout the journey.

In the first half of the ABC and Mardi Himal Trek, we will cover the route of Mardi Himal, traversing through the dense forest from Deurali to Forest Camp, we get to walk along the chirping sounds of birds and maybe even encounter Danfe (Himalayan Monal)- Nepal's national bird showing it's aura. Attaining Forest Camp, the whole territory is fully covered by the forested section of rhododendrons thriving in pink and red shades, welcoming us, showcasing the pristine nature of this protected area.

Continuing the journey to High Camp, via Badal Danda and reaching Mardi Himal Base Camp on the following two days, the massive transition of landscape can be seen from the tropical zone to alpine meadows. Upon arriving at Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500 meters), the breathtaking views of mountains reward us under the shade of golden hues, and the best part is, of course! being surrounded by the panorama of Mardi Himal (the rising star of the Annapurna region). After immersing at the base camp of Mardi, the trek descends to Low Camp for an overnight stay and to celebrate the first success of the first round of the trek.

Persisting the Mardi Himal and Annapurna Base Camp Trek, we'll take a downhill walk to the hot springs of Jhinu Danda, where we will relish ourselves dipping in the natural hot spring amid the Himalayas, enjoying a relaxation session with the best possible views of the Annapurna Range. From here, the classic trek to Annapurna Base Camp begins, traversing through famous settlements such as Landruk, Chhomrong, Nayagaon, Bamboo, and finally to Deurali via visiting Hinku Cave- a notable landmark that used to be served as a settlement in ancient times and also get to gaze over the glacier river from the Himalaya in between.

Finally, on the 9th day of our trek, we will reach Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), bypassing another iconic Macchapuchre Base Camp (MBC)- 3700 meters. Standing on the lap of the world's tenth highest peak of Mt. Annapurna at ABC, the 360-degree panoramic views of highly towering mountains such as Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, Annapurna III, Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, Gangapurna, Machhapuchre (Fishtail), Khangsar Kang, Tent Peak and many other notable peaks surround us from every side making every breath, sweat and penny worth it.

Staying overnight within the territory of Annapurna Base Camp, on the following days, we will bypass the same settlements to Jhinu Danda, retracing the steps of the Annapurna Trek. With a downhill walk to Ghandruk from Jhinu Danda, we get to explore the biggest Gurung village amid the Himalayas and even try the jewels while visiting the famous Gurung Museum- a perfect way to conclude the walking trail. On this very day, we will take a descent to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara before we return to Kathmandu. Our merged trek to Mardi and Annapurna comes to an end after we drive back to Kathmandu, recalling the memories created at this enchanting adventure.

Note: If this combined merged trip, doesn't fit your holiday duration then, you can do either of these solely, also if you want a sight seeing tour to world heritage sites then, make sure to have 1 spare day after or before the trip. Besides, this package doesn't include lodging in Kathmandu, if you want one then we offer you free staycation at our hotel for 1-2 days to make the overall Nepal experience to be forever remembered for.

Machhapuchhre Base Camp stands at 3,700 meters and provides an optimal rest point before continuing to ABC, where the famous Fishtail Mountain appears in its most detailed form. And finally, the ABC is surrounded by the huge Annapurna mountain range and lies just on the foothill of the tenth-tallest mountain in the world. All these base camps have a different perspective of the Himalayas, unique and something we will never forget.

Well, it's not true because it is perfectly suitable for beginners as well as families. The hiking trails are marked and regularly maintained, so it is safe and easy to navigate, and we can find teahouses featuring warm beds and hot meals. Parents successfully guide their ten-year-old children on this trekking route. Yes! It's possible for kids as well. The expedition establishes everlasting family memories for all generations, as well as novice trekkers looking to step up in their game!

Diverse cultural encounters: Gurung and Magar cultures

During this trek to ABC and Mardi Himal, we get to encounter friendly people who belong to multiple ethnic groups as we pass through Gurung, Magar, and Sherpa settlements. The Gurung people stand out as the main resident population, particularly in villages such as Landruk, Ghandruk, and Chhomrong, and are known for their connection with the British Regiment. When you visit their villages, you will find stone houses with slate roofs along with flowers blooming in the yards.

The Magar people reside in lower villages where their main occupation involves agriculture, and they organize many local celebrations, so if we are lucky, we can be a part of it too. Sherpas are known worldwide for their expert mountain knowledge and resiliency, and they follow Buddhism, so we can see their villages decorated with multicolored prayer flags and small Buddhist shrines. Each encounter with different groups provides us unique cultural experience that we can cherish for life!

After breakfast, we start our expedition, but before that, our guide arrives at the hotel to pick us up at 6:30 AM. Then, we will go to the Gangabu bus park, just a few minutes away from the hotel, to board a comfortable tourist bus which will take us to Pokhara. During the bus journey, we will see wonderful sights as we follow the Trishuli River through the Prithivi Highway. We observe numerous small settlements with painted homes that feature agricultural terracing where local farmers cultivate rice and vegetable crops.

Massive mountains of the Annapurna range on the horizon start to appear while approaching Pokhara which is a charming city located beside the serene Phewa Lake. After checking into our hotel, we begin a brief lakeside walk as we watch the famous fish-shaped mountain Machhapuchhre appear as a reflection in the lake water. The day ends as we enjoy dinner before getting sufficient rest for the upcoming trek.

Max Altitude: 830m Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and DInnerAccommodation: 4-Star HotelDuration: 6-7 hoursDistance: 200 km

Today, we take a one-hour private jeep ride to Dhampus village which is the starting point of our trek. The path features rough terrain while passing through agricultural areas where locals cultivate corn and millet.

Our true hiking expedition sets off from Dhampus village which offers enchanting stone-built houses of welcoming Gurung residents who live there. We begin our hike from a stone trail that leads up and down through the rhododendron forests as we navigate across small streams that are crossed using wooden bridges. During our journey, we admire the incredible Annapurna South and Hiunchuli peaks that become visible in the distance before reaching Pothana village for our meal.

We continue our uphill hike after lunch to reach Deurali through forests filled with thick rhododendrons and oaks accompanied by birds making cheerful sounds. After crossing Pitam Deurali, we reach Deurali which stands on a ridge where we can witness breathtaking perspectives of the valley below and stunning views of the mountains. As darkness falls, we see lights shining from the valley's lower regions while we rest for the night.

Max Altitude: 2,100m Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and DInnerAccommodation: Tea HouseDuration: 5-6 hoursDistance: 38km

The morning in Deurali begins with bird sounds while we wake up and following our morning breakfast, we begin our journey toward the Mardi Himal trail which receives relatively few visitors. We traverse through magical forests containing moss-covered trees along with colorful birds and the path increases its steepness with our elevation gain. Passing through multiple clear-running streams which originate in the mountain peaks, we reach a tiny open area during lunchtime to relax while feasting while appreciating the stunning vista of the Modi Khola valley in the distance below. Our journey continues through the forest while ascending continuously upward as the forest changes into fir and pine trees.

We arrive at Forest Camp which is also known as Kokar, during the afternoon hours, which consists of basic teahouses located in an open forest clearing. As fog drifts through the tree line, it produces a magical effect and the stunning sight of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre and Dhaulagiri fills our night as we stay at one of the local teahouses.

Max Altitude: 2,600m Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and DInnerAccommodation: Tea HouseDuration: 5-6 hoursDistance: 7km

Today, our journey begins through a dense forest at the starting point until we ascend into higher elevations where trees become sparser. We spend two hours climbing an uphill path before stopping at Low Camp, where the mountain peak of Machhapuchhre reveals its closest views to us.  We eventually arrive at "Badal Danda", known locally as "Cloud Hill" where clouds and mist cover the area most of the time.

The trail moves forward from the forested areas into the wide open grassland and walking along the ridge, we can see deep valleys extend on both sides.  After a few more hours dedicated to consistent ascent, we arrive at High Camp which offers breathtaking landscapes of the Annapurna range that appear so close that touching them seems possible while Machhapuchhre is visible to us directly in front. The overnight accommodation at High Camp consists of simple teahouses but seeing the mountains transform from golden to pink during sunset is a magical experience.

Max Altitude: 3,600m Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and DInnerAccommodation: Tea HouseDuration: 4-5 hoursDistance: 6km

Today we wake up earlier than the sun even rises and using our headlamps as guidance, we follow the steep trail leading to Mardi Himal Base Camp. The path leads through rocky terrain while making a continuous zigzag pattern up the mountain's slope with the enormous rocky structures surrounding us. The landscape consists of nothing but rocky terrain and tiny alpine plants.

We reach Mardi Himal Base Camp after climbing for approximately 3 hours of challenging ascents, where we can see both Annapurna I and Annapurna South while Hiunchuli and Gangapurna also catch the eye along with the impressive Machhapuchhre and Mardi Himal just before our eyes. The mountains provide a stunning backdrop while we drink hot tea from our packed breakfast before taking numerous photographs before we retrace our steps toward High Camp while descending to Low Camp. As we descend, we first notice tiny shrubs before larger tree lines reappear along our path. We arrive at Low Camp in the afternoon, where we can observe stunning mountain views from inside its forest clearing. We spend this night relaxing our exhausted legs while having a satisfying meal.

Max Altitude: 4,500m Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and DInnerAccommodation: Tea HouseDuration: 7-8 hoursDistance: 12km

We start our downhill trek after having breakfast at Low Camp. We are now continuing our trek on the Annapurna Base Camp trail after departing from the Mardi Himal trail. Which leads us through picturesque rhododendron forests displaying their pink and red flowers in the season is spring season. The path leads us through Sidhing village where the Gurung people maintain their traditional stone houses that have slate roofing. We cross Mardi Khola through a swinging bridge and continue our climb towards Landruk village, where we can admire Annapurna South as it spans across the valley. After lunch,  we descend through the stone steps until we reach the New Bridge which spans the Modi Khola river, before a steep ascent towards Jhinu Danda. The hot springs found beside Modi Khola river have established Dhampus village as a well-known attraction for relaxation.

Max Altitude: 1,780m Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and DInnerAccommodation: Tea HouseDuration: 6-7 hoursDistance: 14km

We move from Jhinu Danda after breakfast to walk across the Modi Khola river through a suspension bridge. Our path follows the Modi Khola while alternating between ascending the valley wall and descending closer to the river. Upon reaching Chhomrong which is a large Gurung settlement built upon a hillside with stone steps uniting each house, we can purchase snacks from the shops and bakeries located in the village.

We must descend from Chhomrong via a long stone staircase, followed by a crossing of the Chhomrong Khola on a short bridge then we ascend on the opposing side of the route. Bamboo, oak and rhododendron trees make up the forest with a moist and pleasant atmosphere due to its higher humidity. We continue walking for more hours until we arrive at Bamboo, renowned for its abundant bamboo trees which sits next to the Modi Khola. We will be able to sleep better tonight thanks to the calming sound of the river running.

Max Altitude: 2,310m Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and DInnerAccommodation: Tea HouseDuration: 4-5 hoursDistance: 10km

Following a hearty breakfast, we move forward with our journey up the mountain valley by passing through a mystical forest with trees covered in moss. Our path leads through streams which we cross using wooden bridges while completing stone staircases. We reach Dobhan after a two-hour trek which serves as a small rest area for tea breaks and moving forward, the terrain keeps becoming steeper until we reach Himalaya, where we stop for our lunch.

The Hinku Cave lies ahead as we enter a constricting valley filled with massive cliff walls and we can hear the sound of the Modi Khola river. After a final steep ascent, we reach Deurali which is a valley basin bordered by enormous mountain ranges. From this point, we have a clear glimpse of the trail which will eventually lead us to the famous Annapurna Base Camp.

Max Altitude: 3,230m Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and DInnerAccommodation: Tea HouseDuration: 4-5 hoursDistance: 7km

Today marks our special moment as we move towards Annapurna Base Camp. The day begins with breakfast in Deurali before we start ascending through the valley where the landscape changes dramatically, leading us out of the forest area into a rocky valley. The path makes multiple crossings across the river using small bridges before the climb to the Machhapuchhre Base Camp area (3,700 meters) to stop for tea where we get our first glimpses of the mountain ring that is the Annapurna Sanctuary.. Our journey continues toward Annapurna Base Camp for an additional 1.5 hours and finally we complete our journey by reaching Annapurna Base Camp, where we see the huge mountain peaks including Annapurna I, Gangapurna and Machhapuchhre. Annapurna I reaches its towering 8,091 meters above us as the blue-hued Annapurna glacier appears before our eyes. Looking over the eautiful view of the mountains under shining stars, we rest in a local teahouse just beneath the tenth tallest mountain.

Max Altitude: 4,130m Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and DInnerAccommodation: Tea HouseDuration: 4-5 hoursDistance: 8km

The first sunrays of day at Annapurna Base Camp reveal the stunning process when mountain peaks transition from gold to radiant white under morning sunlight. The return journey starts following breakfast with one final mountain observation before we descend. Our descent leads first to Machhapuchhre Base Camp then continues down to Deurali then soon we stop to enjoy our lunch at Himalaya while our legs find needed rest.

Our journey continues past Hinku Cave through the valley and forest before arriving back at Bamboo shortly before dusk. Lower elevations around Bamboo provide a warmer atmosphere with denser air compared to the thin chilly wind we experienced at Base Camp.. At our teahouse, have a big dinner and get some much-needed rest.

Max Altitude: 2,350m Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and DInnerAccommodation: Tea HouseDuration: 6 hoursDistance: 14km

Today, we move downhill across thick forests that lead us to Sinuwa before navigating through the massive stone staircase into Chhomrong village. The stop in Chhomrong allows us to take in different perspectives of both Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre mountains. We begin our descent after lunch across a long staircase from Chhomrong before crossing the Chhomrong Khola bridge to reach Jhinu Danda.

We have enough time to see the well-known hot spring sites when we arrive in Jhinu Danda at noon. We descend a steep path for 20 minutes until we reach the Modi Khola river where natural hot springs rise beside the river's flow and the warm mineral-rich water creates an excellent sensation for our tired bodies after completing our long hiking journey. After a therapeutic bath, we return to our teahouse in Jhinu Danda for dinner before sleeping.

Max Altitude: 1,780m Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and DInnerAccommodation: Tea HouseDuration: 4 hoursDistance: 10km

Today marks our final day of hiking as we descend through forests, terraced fields and small settlements. We need to cross the Modi Khola once more by using the multi-colored prayer flag adorned suspension bridge to reach Siwa/Ghandruk Phedi and its starting point of the road. Following our lunch, we ride a vehicle, we take a local jeep to reach Pokhara. Driving along the bumpy Seti River road, we pass many villages, farms and hills with a diverse landscape. Finally, we reach Pokhara where we can check into our hotel and take some rest before enjoying a Lakeside stroll.

Max Altitude: 1,150m Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and DInnerAccommodation: 4-Star HotelDuration: 6-7 hoursDistance: 8km

After breakfast, we quickly board the comfy tourist bus for the return trip to Kathmandu. Our journey on the Prithivi Highway takes us through mountainous terrain and rivers as we pass through local settlements beside the flowing Trisuli River. The road journey leads to Damauli then passes through Mugling up to Naubise where we reach the capital city of Kathmandu which emerges from the distant Thankot area.

We arrive at Kathmandu where we check into our hotel for a brief rest following the extended travel.  A farewell dinner and trip completion certificate distribution end our last evening together. Later, you can explore the Thamel neighborhood, visiting local handicraft shops for souvenirs.

Essential Information

Best time for Mardi Himal and Annapurna Base Camp Trek

The Mardi Himal with ABC Trek is an all-year-round trek because of its simple trails and lower elevations, welcoming beginners, families, and pro hikers. As this trek is easy and goes by well-maintained sections, even though it is a combined trip within the Annapurna region, one can smoothly complete the trip without any hassle.

However, just like any other expeditions in Nepal, this Annapurna Base Camp and Mardi Trek is ideal for Spring and Autumn as these seasons of the year offer the ideal temperature and mild humidity to hike along the route with the undisturbed mountain views and landscapes. Meanwhile, the monsoon and winter give a high level of precipitation and cold temperatures below -10 degrees Celsius; nonetheless, with proper preparation and guidelines, this trek can be done smoothly any time of the year.

What to expect in Spring( March to May)?

Spring stands out to be one of the ideal seasons for the Annapurna and Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek as the temperature only ranges from 12 to 22 degrees Celsius during the day and doesn't fall below -5 at upper trails, which means it is a perfect time to begin the hike and have cozy nights in tea houses.

Due to the lower chance of high snowfall and rainfall, the sky becomes clear with no fogginess, offering a view of the Annapurna ranges in every stride. The best part about this timeframe is that the trails are beautifully covered with red rhododendrons, and green forested route are thrived with other wild flowers making our long trembling hike captivating by the natural beauty.

What to expect during Autumn (September to November)?

Autumn tends to be another best and also the peak time for the trek to Mardi Himal and Annapurna Base Camp, as it comes after the end of monsoon (high rain and snowfall), providing a lower chance of precipitation or you can say almost zero which means you can enjoy the trek without worrying about gloominess and rainfall that could make the trail slippery and ruin the expedition.

Cloudless blue skies appear after summer rainfall concludes while temperatures range between 5-15°C, which provides pleasant conditions and allows perfect mountain views on nearly every day.

Walking conditions during this season provide pleasant fresh air at all times while keeping freezing temperatures away and making the trekking routes easy to traverse. Are you into culture? If yes, you are in for a treat! The combination of festivals with harvest season provides visitors with unique opportunities to see traditional village customs while the crops turn golden.

What to expect in winter and monsoon?

If it were any other remote and isolated expeditions, then undertaking a hike within these off seasons, which are winter and monsoon, is not highly recommended. However, as this trek goes through the well-maintained sections with easily accessible tea houses, you can smoothly complete this journey with no fuss, but one must ensure that you have prior experience, as it contains many snowy pathways in between during winter and slippery forested areas in the rainy season.

Besides, the temperature might fall to -10 degrees Celsius, so make sure that you carry essential warm gear and have warm soups to avoid the cold that could sometimes lead to altitude sickness, especially when you are a beginner.

However, you will find several cloudless days that showcase impressive mountain views and low foot traffic without being fully crowded during your trek to Mardi Himal and Annapurna Base Camp, allowing a serene "ME Time". If you are a pro hiker having ample knowledge, then you will surely love meandering around the Annapurna region in winter as well as monsoon.

Annapurna Base Camp with Mardi Himal Trek Difficulty

The combination of the Mardi Himal and Annapurna Base Camp trek falls under moderate treks in Nepal, even though it is a merged trek of two destinations, opening the gateway to every enthusiastic hiker without demanding prior experience or an age limit. This trek covers two routes within the Annapurna region and also diverse trekking trails, from forested sections to rugged terrains with stone staircases, and lastly to snowy sections at higher altitudes of both the base camps. In total, this expedition demands a 5-6 hour hike covering approximately 8-12 km of distance per day, which is not challenging for someone having a basic level of physical fitness.

The first half of this trek covers the Mardi Himal route, which is quite easy and smooth to navigate with the well-maintained sections, even children can easily undertake it with their family. The only challenging part is when undertaking an ascent from Forest Camp to High Camp, as the elevation rises significantly at this point.

Besides, the trail also has some steep sections and goes all the way uphill, which becomes challenging for a newbie, but safe to undertake as there are side poles and bars to take support during the ascent. The highest point of this merged Mardi Trek and ABC is the Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500 meters), hence you might feel a mild symptom of AMS, en route, proper guidelines are a must.

While covering the second half to Annapurna Base Camp, the trailhead becomes a bit challenging than the first one as it consists of several ascents, descents, and stone pathways, which creates a leg-trembling situation for a newbie. However, the trails are well managed and most have wide stone steps for easy navigation. The trail provides wider paths with better maintenance than Mardi Himal, although it has more foot traffic.

All in all, this merged trek is accessible to all kinds of hikers; no matter whether you are a pro or just a novice hiker, you can smoothly undertake this expedition without a doubt. On top of that, our Annapurna Base Camp with Mardi Himal Trek itinerary is safely customized, ensuring that parents with children and beginners with proper preparation can complete it with no difficulties.

Altitude sickness and Preventive guidelines

Well, we all are well know how the risk of altitude sickness is always circulating at such high elevation, especially after crossing the elevation of 3000 meters. This Mardi Himal and Annapurna Base Camp Treks ascends over 2500 meters of height daily and reaches over 4000 meters, hence, the risk of altitude sickness is always meandering around with no doubt. Even though the Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m) reaches its highest point, and Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m), due to the gradual climbing, it allows your body to adjust to altitude changes.

Our 13-day Mardi Himal and Annapurna Base Camp Trek itinerary has gradual ascents and enough time for your body to adjust to elevation changes, so you need not worry about altitude sickness. We'll only take an ascent of 300-500 meters each day and don't go beyond that, as safety remains the number one priority at such high elevations. Thus, even though the risk of AMS is low, here are some of the preventive guidelines that you must follow during this trek to Annapurna with Mardi Himal:

  • Please make sure to consume 3-4 liters of water daily to avoid headaches and mouth dryness. Hydrating the body helps in ascent and also helps to adapt to the rising altitude
  • Avoid alcohol consumption and refrain from smoking while you hike.
  • Inform your guide immediately whenever you notice headaches or feel unwell or light-headed, or if you feel unusual difficulty, such as losing control, insomnia (loss of appetite or sleep), skin turning pale, vomiting, difficulty in breathing, and most importantly, the feeling of a rapid heartbeat.
  • Always listen to your guide regarding their recommendation for slowing down or descending the trail.
  • Get sufficient sleep during night hours and maintain proper rest each evening.
  • Consult with your doctor about taking Diamox medication before your trip.
  • Eat garlic soup to warm up your body from the inside and energize your stamina level (if you aren't allergic to garlic items)

Travel Insurance

The combined trek to Mardi Himal and ABC takes you to diverse landscapes with steep climbs, rocky and uneven terrain that needs careful navigation. Hence, having travel insurance is essential because it takes care of certain things. A reliable travel insurance policy needs to be secured, and make sure that it contains theft, luggage loss, minor injuries, trip cancellation, delays, and most importantly, the helicopter evacuation (rescue) over 3500 meters. A good travel insurance takes care of your expenses due to injuries, lost gear, as well as trip cancellations, and also allows a free mind journey.

If you are planning to take the risk and venture on ABC with the Mardi Trek without travel insurance, we highly suggest you secure travel insurance first because you will be reaching 4500 meters altitude as well as the base of the tenth highest mountain, thus certain risks are always there. With all that taken care of, you can fully enjoy your Annapurna Base Camp with Mardi Himal Trek at ease.

Essential Tips for Mardi Himal and Annapurna Base Camp Trek in Nepal (Communication, ATM, Electricity, Packing, Acclimatization)

  1. A 2-3 month walking, hiking, and staircase-climbing training regime will prepare you for your upcoming trek. Walk for a minimum of one hour each day of your walking routine.
  2. The trekking trails do not have any ATM or card-operating facilities available. Withdraw enough Nepali rupees for your entire trek from either Kathmandu or Pokhara before your journey starts.
  3. To maintain proper hydration, drink between 3 to 4 liters of water per day even if you feel no thirst. Carry a 2-3 liter reusable water bottle which you can refill in teahouses while using filtration tablets for cleaning contaminated water.
  4. A portable high-capacity power bank or charger should be in your backpack for using your phone or camera. Remote areas do not have dependable charging facilities in their tea houses, even though certain places do supply power connections.
  5. Purchase local SIM cards from Ncell or NTC in Kathmandu or Pokhara because their networks have sufficient coverage throughout the trekking area. The phone network's range becomes restricted at high elevations, but you can still get in touch with loved ones.
  6. Use an oximeter to check your oxygen levels frequently so you can inform your guide about any discomfort you have because he will offer needed medical support.
  7. Your backpack should only contain the required items to remain lightweight. Pack only essential items like clothes, medicine, sleeping bags, and covers.
