The magic of nature unfolds through the colorful rhododendron and pine forests, plains, and the amazing view of the snow-capped mountains that seem to be overlooking the trekking route. Buddhist culture reflected through the prayer flags, prayer stones, and Gompas, and lush vegetation make the trekking an enriching one. We have got so many nice memories in this Sherpa village town and recall the experiences gained during the strenuous yet amazing trekking.

Essential Information

Best season for Everest 3 pass trekking

The months of April to June in the monsoon season and September to November after the monsoon season are the best times to do this trek. Mostly the Weather is supposed to be clear and mild temperature. You can’t do these three Renjola Pass Chola Pass Kongma La Pass trekking in winter time as the Pass can be closed because of snow and it will be too cold over 4000m height.

Is travel insurance necessary for Everest Three Pass trekking

Doing a strenuous trek at a high altitude is always challenging and life-threatening. We always suggest our trekkers purchase an insurance policy that may cover rescue and medical needs up to 5,500m in case of emergency.
Our team of climbing guides, trekking guides, kitchen crews, and porters are insured against any kind of risk during the trekking.

Foods and accommodation in Everest Three Pass Trek

We will get freshly cooked, boiled, or baked foods whilst in Everest 3 High Pass trekking by the local lodge. Local organic vegetables prepared by the cook are suggested to have as your meal. We have to consider our food from the same hotel lodge where we sleep overnight. We can taste Western meals like Pizza, Pasta, Steak, etc. in Lukla or Namche Bazar.

During the Everest Three Pass, we will sleep at a lodge, there will basic lodge mostly in high altitude. Room without washroom, there will be common bathroom outside. We sleep mostly as twin sharing beds but we have to be prepared for dormitory rooms sometimes if we are in the main trekking season spring and autumn. We will have accommodation rooms everywhere throughout.

In places like Lukla and Namche, we can have luxury rooms with toilets and bathrooms attached.

Three Passes Trek in Everest difficulty

Everest Three Pass is one of the most strenuous grade-high pass treks in Nepal. This trek leads us through a rugged and off-the-beaten trail. Some parts of the trails are slippery and have icy paths at higher altitudes. Descending through an icy path is risky, we may fall with a small lack. So trekking polls and Ice-X are best recommended for this.

One of the concerning risk factors in this trekking is altitude. We pass every day through high altitudes and sleep at the same level of height. There are chances to get altitude problems and become sick. Proper acclimatization is compulsory.

This 3 pass trek in Everest is certainly not recommended for beginners. Trekkers who are physically fit and acclimatized in high altitude can do this trekking.

Drinking Water during 3 pass trek

Drinking water in three-pass trekking is easily available. We can see several water streams along the route. But we better not drink water directly from a stream or a water tap. So water purification system or Iodine pills are necessity to make water drinkable. We can buy mineral water along the route, of course, the cost depends on where we buy it, and the average cost is around Rs 250 for a 1ltr bottle.

We can buy boiled water in every lodge, so have to take a thermo-insulated water bottle to keep the water warm which may not be frozen. Sometimes you must wait for hot water unless the kitchen gets free. A liter of boiled water costs up to NPR 500.

Is Wi-Fi and network connectivity accessible during the Three Pass Trek in the Everest Region?

We can use Wi-Fi throughout the Everest region trekking. The login accesses us by the lodge owner where we eat and sleep. This free wi-fi doesn’t work properly on our devices as it has limited bandwidth and is shared among many people living at the hotel. So we can buy a wi-fi pack valid days are according to manually indicated.
We can also buy internet data packs provided by Nepal Telecom or NCELL mobile networks. Mobile internet data works most of the trekking routes and places.
